Our client, a leading multinational technology company specialising in internet services and products, seeks to deepen their understanding of Indonesia's payment landscape—both digital and conventional. They aim to gain comprehensive insights into how Indonesians use payment methods and mental models, focusing on consumers, sellers, and creators, to expand their product offerings effectively.
Our Approach
- A 2-week online diary study with 50 participants in 4 cities in Indonesia to capture payment habits and workflows.
- Followed by in-home interviews with 16 participants to observe real-life payment behaviours and monetisation practices.
- Concluded with a 3-day cultural immersion in Jakarta, exploring diverse payment practices at restaurants, shopping streets, and traditional markets.
